The future King George VI on the slide at the Wembley Exhibition, London 1925. He became King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth unexpectedly following the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII, in 1936. He was was also the last Emperor of India and the first Head of the Commonwealth.
