Walt Disney with his 8 mm camera filming on a beach of Rio de Janeiro, 1941. He was on a 12-week cultural goodwill tour and on a break from a major labor battle with animators. He flew to South America with more than a dozen of his colleagues under the aegis of the federal government with the aim of countering German influence in countries like Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
