Edvard Munch, Self-Portrait somewhere on the continent I and II (1906).
In most of his self-portraits, Munch appears either in profile, or from a three-quarter angle, reflecting his interest in exploring himself from angles other than those which he could see in the mirror. Often his photographs appear in pairs, with one the flip version of the other. The fingerprints on several of his photographs suggest that he developed his own films.
